Leaf - RSS News Reader App Reviews

152 Customer Reviews:

I’ve been waiting forever for the long-promised update of Reeder for OS X with Feedly support. I saw that this app recently added Feedly support and decided to give it a try. This app is great! It is minimal, yet really attractive and allows you to customize it’s display on a per feed basis. For anyone looking for an OS X RSS reader with Feedly support, I can highly recommend this one.

RSS系ではお決まりの"j", "k"などのショートカットがないことにビックリ。あって当たり前と思い込んでいた。 I really really want shortcuts for reading, etc like "j" for next article, "k" for prev. article in Leaf2.

Im using everyday this application, and Leaf is the best news reader from all the apps which I have used before. It is not free, but it is very valuable.

I had before Reeder, Coffeined nad few more rss reader. BUt for this moment is first bueauty design simple and sync with feedly rss reader on mac app store. Is simple and working perfect. From me 5 stars. Just one thing what is missing for me is shortcut keys.

This app looks promising, and I hope it will evolve into a better product. Got it on a deal for $2 (version 2.1.1). Pros: - Feedly sync! - good looking although the themes could use some facelift and better contrast of fonts. Cons: - missing the much needed J/K shortcut for next/prev (easy addition) One thing to note: - individual feeds are not displayed separately when you add them (like it is in Caffeinated, Reeder, Feedly online, etc), but rather in one “bucket” of feeds, I guess it’s a feature of this app and you can manage this by manually creating “containers” for each individual feed but this means you cannot have “folder” structure of the feeds (to which I am used to) - it would be great to have an option for this.

After update this app is unuseable. I can’t import OPML, I can’t sync with feedly, I can’t go to settings and support is not responding. I DON’T recomend this crap.

Yosemite

After upgraded to Yosemite I can’t use leaf like before. I can’t click in menu bar to change something like backround, it’s horrible :/

This RSS reader is really GREAT! Better even comapred with Reeder 2 ;) But… Please, add the ability to read the contents stored in Pocket account, as is in ReadKit. I think, many users would like to have support for RSS (e.g. ftom Feedly) and „read-it-later” services in one app. This is the only feature that I still miss in Leaf.

Better than ever.

I’ve been waiting too long for new Reeder. And Leaf is much better than all other apps.

One area of improvment would be to allow to set the size and font type of the article titles, so one would be able to customise it more. Generally you can configure the app so it looks pretty minimalistic, so it will allow you to focus on the text. This is a big plus for me.

I can’t see how it may be of any help to anybody, but here are so many admirators … maybe only me just don’t see something essentialy good in this trash?

Catchalove v2.0 · 12 years ago

Crap

It is unable to sync all my feeds. It syncs just only 100 articles from every feed. Waste of money.

DiKeert v2.1.1 · 12 years ago

Maybe

Please add hotkey to ‘Star article’ action

has a lot to improve

what’s good - it has feedly sync what’s bad - you cannot expand your subscription folders and that makes Leaf unusable.

Router85 v2.1.1 · 12 years ago

Doesn’t show individual feeds by default and has no option to enable it. I’ve never used feed folders and now all feeds look like a mess, there’s no way to choose one feed to read. You can go to settings and make a folder with one feed, but creating a few dozen folders for a few dozen feeds, by hand? No, thanks. Totally unusable. That’s not to mention very limited sync settings, no web view and counter-intuitive interface in general.

Good application

I’ve bought it today with the discounted price (less than a cup of coffee). I personally like Reeder more, but for such price I’d better use Leaf.

Nice RSS reader

Found it very useful. Simple, intuitive, supports all popular RSS machines.

You allow to switch between several fonts most of which don’t have local character sets (even Avenir). This limitation became sadly usual on iOS, but it’s even more strange on desktop. Please, add support for adding of several custom fonts from those installed in OS. I have beautiful light free fonts that will fit news reading ideally. Thanks for services integration!
