I like the clean look, smooth and unobtrusive automation. The sync is fast. Haven’t yet figured out how to send articles to Evernote, but that’s my problem!

I love the Leaf Reader! The new interface is beautiful and easy to understand. However, there are a few things I would like to point out as areas of improvement. When the app was redesigned in the last major update, I had to reorganize my folders as all my feeds were mixed up into one big category. You cannot add a feed more than once. This is a con because sometimes you want the same feed but in a separate folder. I like to categorize my feeds into types of resources. Similarly, when you add a feed for the second time, it doesn’t tell you where you have already added this feed to (Which folder), so you are left searching every folder to find where you put that feed previously. I also don’t like that it shows you articles that are to be published in 14 hours. If they’re not published now, I don’t care to read them yet as I can’t share them with people.
really great application, love it…
Great application !
A slick, easy-to-use, feedly-integrating newsreader for OS X that’s done right. I’ve only had it for minutes and I’m flat-out impressed. Looks promising! :D
Similar to the posts of other reviewers, the Leaf app has simply stopped working. No feeds coming through. No view of subscribed feeds. Nothing. It worked fine in the past, but sadly my money is now wasted. Support is non-responsive. Do yourself a favour and avoid aggravation of Leaf.
The design was so clean and elegant before in leaf 2. Each update just gets worse and worse. Now the logo looks terrible, it used to look so nice.
With the 4.01 update my feeds refuse to refresh, whereas the same feeds work perfectly in Newsflow, their other newsreader! In addition, the fact that you can’t resize fonts while reading an article is a major oversight. Flash also tends to crash frequently. Needs work!
Disappointing release New items don’t clear automatically, interface menus seem to be there for show and clicking doesn’t seem to do anything… Sometimes my Feedly feed doesn’t update anymore, had to uninstall and reinstall… So not recommended at this time, unless you are willing to gamble that everything will be fixed
This is one app that I use at least once a day. I do not need all the bells and whistles offered by some RSS readers and Leaf seem to know what I need. A tool to make my work flow easier to manage. I found that functionally and simplisity of use can reside in an app. A huge pat on the back for you Rocky Sand Studio!
Leaf does what it’s meant to well enough, and is fairly well designed. But for a paid app, I take issue with the multiple instances of sleazy marketing tactics integrated into it. First of all, on the initial launch the first thing you see is a dialog steering you to all the developer’s other apps. This can be turned off for future launches, but it really gives the wrong first impression. Second, and much more annoying: when you add your RSS sync service, Leaf automatically subscribes you to the developer’s own news feed without asking permission or even telling you they’re doing it. I couldn’t figure out why I was suddenly seeing posts from Rocky Sand when I’d never subscribed. I only worked out what it was by visiting their website and seeing that they were the makers of Leaf. My feed list is my own, I manage it carefully, and it’s not reasonable for the maker of a feed reader app to make changes to it without my permission.
I use Leaf every day to get my RSS feeds and it is an absolute joy to use! Its clean minimalist user interface feels completely natural in Yosemite and makes really smart use of gestures. The developer has done a fantastic job with this app. Highly recommended. Anxiously awaiting an iOS version!
But when will it be localize in other language
Leaf does what it says. Good if you want an RSS reader that doesn’t rely on having an account on a news service. Not yet perfect: some of the keyboard shortcuts are unintuitive, and some navigation controls need tweaking.
I didn’t know if was going to love it as I read multiple bad comments on it but I was soon to realise that it was comments multiple versions before the one i’ve been using. It integrates well with Feedly(and other but I didn’t test them). The interface is the reason why I bought it and I’m so happy with it. All in all : a great app. PS: The themes are great and flexible.
Just a tiny personal opinion: It would be great to not make the color of unread articles list blue..looks a bit odd.
I’ve been using NetNewsWire for years. But a recent update completely borked the app on my Mac. I’m thrilled with Leaf. It’s quick and clean and looks great. Thank you @RockySandStudio
Sync for tech sites is not working for me and documentation is minimal. In general they have gone for a minimal interface in the miguided belief that users are not capable of customizing it to fit their needs. If you like commercial news feeds and want a nice notification (that you can’t turn off) every time some news feed blips this may be for you. If you use your computer for work, you should find a more professional client.
Looking and usability is good. But,registering my RSS feeds is vanished!!! Clitical Bug? i’m afraid use this app. Fix this bug ASAP!!!!!!!
Feedlyと同期して使用。 ・フィードごとに100件までの記事しか同期できない制限(101件以上だと「The value 101 is too large.」と出る) ・既読/未読情報がFeedlyと同期できない などの問題があり今のところ実用に耐えない。
